SUMMARY:SAO Unit Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Hello Members of the VSEA SAO Bargaining Unit,\nOn Tuesday, September 10 from 12-1, our unit will be holding its annual meeting. This meeting will be held online, via Zoom. Please email vsea@vsea.org for the Zoom information.\nAt that meeting we will be nominating members to serve on our unit’s Executive Committee (the body composed of a Chair, a Vice Chair, a Clerk/Treasurer, an Admin/Secretary representative, a VA representative, and a DSA representative, that conducts the business of the unit) and the Bargaining Team (the body composed of the members of the Executive Committee, three at-large members, and one rep for each position, that negotiates our collective bargaining agreements every other year).\nAll positions are up for election this year. All terms are for two years.\nIf you are interested in getting more involved in your union, please consider nominating yourself to serve on one of these bodies.\nAll that’s required is coming to the meeting on 9/10. If you are not able to attend that meeting, you can submit a letter of intent to run via email directed to: Clerk, Colleen Mills AND Unit Chair, Eliza Novick-Smith BY 9/5/24.\nThere will be an election by electronic ballot after the nominations are made for all seats that have multiple candidates nominated.\nWhether you have been with the department for decades, or have just been hired, there is a place for you in our union leadership.
